MOVING INTO COUNTRY
Pete was seen at the Gladstone Club, Northwich in 2005 (Country themed nights are held here) and it was suggested that his natural guitar style and voice would be ideal for Country music. Being soaked in all styles of music throughout his life, he draws on his country influences (i.e. Hal Ketcham, Alan Jackson, Tim McGraw, Johnny Cash, The Eagles, Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard) to put together a Country set to please listeners and dancers. He has produced a CD of Country tracks including 3 self-penned songs and has performed with the legend George Hamilton IV at the Lazy Acre Club in Shrewsbury (where he was well received).
Since then he has made his name known on the Country scene with excellent write-ups in the Pathfinder Country magazine by the Cheshire Cat D.J., Rick O Shay. He is constantly updating his act and has built up a massive 7 hours of non-stop pure Country music providing versatility to suit most country styles. He plays to self-produced tracks, playing the guitar lead breaks live. This results in a full live sound - literally a one man band. Pete's style has also received artistic input from the well known Country D.J. John Birch.
In 2009 Pete plays his first Country festivals in Oswestry and Angelsey, trading on his growing reputation within the Country scene. His love of music and experience are demonstrated in the sincerity and feel that come across to his audiences wherever he performs.
Country music is influenced by diverse styles including Gospel, Rock & Roll and Jazz. Some modern artists have successfully brought Country to the main stream charts. Because Pete has worked in all these fields he is able to bring these styles into his music and is dedicated to keeping it pure country. He sings and plays from the heart and because of a wealth of life experience is able to relate to a good Country song.
He has recently joined forces with Alec Johnson who is without doubt one of the best guitarists on the circuit together they have put together a set of pure country music and with the reception they have had so far at venues ,im sure with Pete and Alecs experience and playing styles that complement each other will be in great demand in country clubs and festivals in the future.
Walker and Johnson review by Rick O Shay July Pathfinder and Cross Country below
Walker and Johnson who are new to country both establised musicians for many years . Pete has been performing as a country singer for a while and he and Alec have performed together other styles or music. but this was one of their first outings as a Country duo .Both fine lead guitarists and they added an individual style to songs like Toby Kieth s Carbo San Lucas , Kieth Urbans Gods been good to me and Josh Turners Would you go with me which they performed live on Cheshire Fm .Slick and unusual arrangements made their performance enjoyable and different to the run of the mill carbon copies of country
Due to confusion over the name Walker and Johnson we have called the duo TWIN FALLS
